In 1961, Little Joe Blue recorded his first single for the Elko label, which was followed by several other singles and albums on different labels throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Some of his most popular songs include "Standing on the Threshold," "Dirty Work Going On," and "She Put the Whammy on Me."

Little Joe Blue's music style was a combination of blues, soul, and R&B. He had a distinctive raspy voice and was known for his powerful guitar playing. He continued to perform and record music until his death on April 22, 1990, due to complications from diabetes. He is remembered as a talented blues artist who left a lasting impact on the genre.
